Electrical cables are usually insulated with Polyvinyle Chloride (PVC), which contribute not only to the rapid spread of fire, but also produce highly poisonous and corrosive gases upon combustion. Dense smoke from cables additionally hinders fire fighting efforts and approach to the area of fire.
THE FUNCTION OF CABLEMASTIC PAINT WHEN APPLIED ON CABLES IS SIMILAR TO THE FUNCTION OF SPEED BREAKERS/ROAD BARRIERS ON THE ROAD WHEREIN, THE VEHICLES MUST NECESSARILY SLOW DOWN AND STOP. A FIREBREAK WITH CABLEMASTIC CAN EFFECTIVELY PREVENT FIRE PROPAGATION FOR AT LEAST 30 MINUTES
Protects cables from damage from internal short circuit fires and keeps them functional for considerable period even when exposed to intense flame impingement
Retards fire and arrests its propagation in both horizontal and vertical direction
After coating the cables remain flexible enough to sustain moderate movement without cracking / peeling off
Cables do not require any special or chemical cleaning prior to application of FR-903

“VIPER” CABLEMASTIC FR-903 has proved its efficacy in actually preventing a major fire at Rourkela Steel Plant. This fact has been documented and certified by Rourkela Steel Plant.
2.8 Kg/sqm for single cables and 3.5Kg/sqm for bunched cables to achieve 1.5-2mm nominal dry coating thickness
“VIPER” CABLEMASTIC FR-903 has been extensively tested and certified for its properties by reputed laboratories including C.B.R.I., Roorkee ,Shriram Institute for Industrial Resaerch, Delhi. and other reputed NABL approved laboratories
Flammability Test as per IEEE: 383 & IS:10810 Part-53 for 6 hours. with 1.5mm dry coating thickness(Dft)
Fire Survival Test as per IEC: 331.with 2.5 mm Dft
Fire Propagation Test SVENSK SS 424 14 75 and IS;10810 Pt 61 Resists ignition and limits the spread of fire with 1.5-2mm Dft
Limiting Oxygen Index : ASTMD 2863:77 -Very High L.O.I.
Current Derating Test: No derating of Cables upto 2.5 mm coating thickness.
Di-electric strength test : Withstands di - electric strength test at 3000V for 5 minutes.
Accelerated Ageing Test : No effect on cable insulation due to adverse weather conditions.
Chemical Resistance Properties : Tested for resistance to large number and type o of industrial chemicals, alcohols, oils acids, alkalies and water.
Gamma radiation Test : Tested for fire survival properties after 212 Mega Rads Radiation Exposure.

IMPORTANCE OF RADIATION TEST
The most reliable method of determining the effective life or ageing properties of the product is to subject it to GAMMA RADIATION TEST as per IEEE: 383.It is the most stringent and reliable test, particularly when life expectancy required is more than 40 years
VIPER CABLEMATIC FR-903 is ONE TIME application for the life of the cables and is very simple to apply by brush as it is available in brushable consistency
Remove dust and grease. Apply a thin first coat of CABLEMASTIC and allow it to dry for 4/6 hours. Subsequent coats to be applied at 4-6 hours interval. Five or six coats are normally required to achieve nominal dry coating thickness of 2 mm. Allow to hard dry for 72 hours.
The use of CABLEMASTIC FR-903 is recommended based on International specifications and Code of Practices followed world wide by creating compartments by painting of cables to a length of app. 1.5 metres-2 meters (To prevent jumping over of flames) at intervals of appx.5 meters (For long cable runs) or full length depending upon the density of the cables on the following areas.
Cables under control panels.
Near cable joints and around cable crossing App. 1.5 meter on both sides of joints.
Cables affected by coaldust depositions/oil / lubricant spillage.
Cables near battery room and high temp. areas.
